Location: King Edward's Bay, Tynemouth, UK

Tynemouth is one of my favourite coastal towns in the North East. Whether it's going for photos, a walk, or just fish and chips. The prominent 14th century castle and priory on the rocky headland overlooking Tynemouth pier can be seen silhouetted in this photo.

This photo was taken down on the rocks at King Edward's bay for an early morning sunrise in 2018. This collection of rocks caught my eye as they stuck out above the incoming tide. I wanted to capture the motion of the North Sea as it came racing in, soon to engulf the North East coastline. The sun rose quickly on this particular morning, leaving a very short window of the bright red sky you see here.
